Our cost-effective AlphaLab Vacuum Tubes with 3.2% Sodium Citrate Additive are used for anticoagulant therapy and routine coagulation testing. These tests measure the blood’s ability to clot, and how long it takes to clot in order to determine the patient’s risk of excessive bleeding or developing thrombosis somewhere in the blood vessels.

The additive in our tubes function as an anticoagulant by chelating calcium. Calcium is added back to the sample to investigate coagulation parameters under controlled conditions in the laboratory.
